Death's Bannermen

The Black Legion's board is the biggest of any faction — twenty-five bounties, four of them currently disabled — here's where all of them actually are.

The situation

The largest table in the game, and it doesn't open early

Unlike most factions, the Black Legion doesn't hand out bounties in Act 3 even though you can start earning their reputation there. The table itself doesn't open until Act 4, at Fort Ikon. Once it does, though, it's the biggest board of any faction by a wide margin — twenty-five distinct bounties, more than any other single faction offers.

That size comes with a cost: four of them are currently disabled, more than any other faction's table. Knowing which four ahead of time saves real searching time.

The method

Bigger board, same rules, more dead ends

01

Standard mechanics apply

Up to five bounties available at once, one active per faction, and a target only becomes killable for credit once the bounty is accepted.

02

Four bounties are currently disabled

Aether Shard, Aether Cluster, and Blood Rites all carry a “currently disabled” note, and multiple community reports point to the same problem with a few others historically. Don't burn time troubleshooting these as if the search technique were the problem.

03

A couple of targets need a Skeleton Key

Blood Rites and Eternal Ilgorr both route through deep floors — the Bastion of Chaos and the Steps of Torment respectively — that require a Skeleton Key to reach. Factor that crafting step in before setting out.

The board

Where all twenty-five actually are

The Blood Grove

  • Doomsayers — Bloodsworn Doomsayers, most reliably found in the Tomb of Korvaak, also in the Blood Grove and Darkvale Gate.
  • Devourers — Chthonian Devourers, found throughout the Blood Grove.
  • Gluttrius'Maw — a Chthonian with three spawn points around the Blood Grove, near the prisoner cages and on either side of the shrine.
  • Chthonic Seal — a delivery bounty; seals farmed in the Blood Grove or pulled from your stash. Currently flagged as disabled.

Obsidian Throne — reached via the Plains of Strife

  • Bane'Gargoth — located in the Obsidian Throne, through a riftgate in the Plains of Strife.
  • Luthus'Balok — four spawn points in the same Obsidian Throne void area.

Rotting Croplands

  • The Tainted Vizier — Vizier Anoxis, found in the Swarming Hatchery within the Dermapteran hive.
  • Harrath, Returned — three possible spawn points scattered across the Rotting Croplands.

The Conflagration

  • Padmanestia — a Possessed Archmage with three spawn points in the second half of The Conflagration.
  • Herald of Flame — located at the far end of The Conflagration.

Shaded Basin

  • Ol' Bloodbriar — found in Bloodbriar's Lair, an unmarked cave spawn somewhere in the Shaded Basin.
  • Emberjaw — three spawn points elsewhere in the Shaded Basin.

Mountain Deeps

  • Sicrix — three spawn points within the Mountain Deeps.
  • The Ravener — Ikrix, with four spawn points in the same cave system.

Jagged Waste

  • The Prime Matriarch — Mogara, found in the western half of the Jagged Waste.

The Necropolis

  • Corprus — a ghoul with three spawn points inside the Black Sepulcher.
  • The Bloodlord — Bloodlord Thalonis, located at the Seal of the Loghorrean, just before the Edge of Madness entrance.

The Arkovian Undercity

  • Shattered Soul — Kilrian, the Tainted Soul, found on level 3.

Deep floors requiring a Skeleton Key

  • Eternal Ilgorr — Ilgorr, the Eternal, on level 4 (Suffering) of the Steps of Torment.
  • Blood Rites — Lagoth'Ak, Harbinger of Blood, on the 3rd level of the Bastion of Chaos. Currently flagged as unavailable.

Scattered Aetherial territory

  • Fleshwarped Commanders — spread across several Act 3 and 4 zones with Aetherial presence: Fort Ikon Prison, Fort Ikon Armory, Prospector's Trail, the Withering Fields, the Plains of Strife, and the Immolation. Spawn rates are sporadic enough that more than one area may need checking.

Delivery bounties

  • Blood of Ch'thon — farmed from Chthonian bosses or pulled from your stash.
  • Tainted Brain — farmed from Aetherial bosses or pulled from your stash.
  • Aether Shard — crafted at any Blacksmith or pulled from your stash. Currently flagged as disabled.
  • Aether Cluster — delivered from the largest Aether Crystals or Aetherial Obelisks. Currently flagged as disabled.

The mixup

Two spots where the board gets confusing

Four bounties simply won't complete right now, and that's expected. Aether Shard, Aether Cluster, and Blood Rites are all explicitly flagged as disabled or unavailable on the current bounty table. If one of these won't turn in no matter how thoroughly you farm or search, that's the known state of the bounty, not a mistake on your end.

Fleshwarped Commanders doesn't have one reliable zone. Unlike most bounties on this board, this one spans six different areas with sporadic spawn rates. Treat it as an opportunistic pickup while doing other Aetherial-territory bounties rather than a dedicated farming run.

Summary

  1. The Black Legion's bounty table doesn't open until Act 4, at Fort Ikon, even though reputation gains start earlier.
  2. This is the largest bounty board in the game — twenty-five distinct bounties, more than any other single faction.
  3. The Blood Grove, Conflagration, Shaded Basin, and Mountain Deeps each host a small cluster of two to four bounties.
  4. Two bounties — Eternal Ilgorr and Blood Rites — require a Skeleton Key to reach their deep-floor targets.
  5. Four bounties are currently flagged as disabled or unavailable: Aether Shard, Aether Cluster, Blood Rites, and Chthonic Seal.
