Kalimdor is the continent the night elves called home for ten thousand years before the War of the Ancients and the Sundering reshaped the world, and where the orcs, freed from their internment camps, founded Durotar and Orgrimmar after the Second War.
It's also where the game's very first expansion-scale conflicts played out — the Barrens, Thousand Needles, and Silithus all sit here, alongside Un'Goro Crater and the roads leading to Ahn'Qiraj.
